Article by Wendy McCance
It’s Friday, and I have been spending the morning wrapping up some loose ends and dissecting what I have accomplished this week. Overall, I feel like I have had a fairly productive week.
This week was all about change, exploring new ideas and putting those ideas into action. After almost a year and a half since Searching for the Happiness was launched, I took the plunge and launched a Facebook page. If you are familiar with my feelings about Facebook, you know that this was a dramatic move on my part.
I have to admit, I have seen the light and now have a new appreciation for Facebook as a terrific place to promote your business in the most social of ways. I love having an outlet where I can pop in with a thought to share. It’s incredible to have a conversation on Facebook with a person who has been following my blog. I’m inspired having a new way to connect with all of the readers who have left comments along the way. It’s just a more personal experience. Yep, I’m extremely happy to have taken the Facebook plunge.
This week has also been eye-opening since I wrote the article on dreams coming true. I have received some fantastic comments from readers who have experienced their dreams coming true in remarkable ways. It’s just another hint that I am moving in the right direction when I get comments from so many people relating and wanting to share their own experiences with me.
As you look towards your weekend, I encourage you to look for a moment to do something memorable. Even if your weekend is filled with obligations, look for a moment to inspire yourself. Create an adventure for yourself. It can be very small like checking out that store you have always thought of exploring. It could be watching a documentary on a subject that leaves you thinking about something very different from your everyday thoughts. It could even be sampling an exotic piece of fruit from the market for sheer curiosity purposes. Find those small things that will give you a small jolt of joy.
My weekend will be busy with friends and family. My oldest daughter is graduating high school this weekend and we will be pretty busy. Even so, I have already decided to steal an hour each morning before the kids get up. I will be to starting each day with a bike ride.
I don’t know what it is about riding my bike, but it is one of my favorite activities. I feel like a kid every time I go riding. I come back home feeling happy, relaxed and ready to get out of the house and make the most of my day.
Mornings are the best. It’s quiet out except for the birds singing or the occasional lawn mower starting up. There is also that smell of flowers, freshly cut grass and dirt that takes me back to those days of playing in the yard when I was young. It’s a simple pleasure that really makes me feel wonderful.
I hope your weekend is a good one. If you do something out of the ordinary just to have a little adventure, please leave a comment and share what you did. If there is something that brings you incredible joy every time you do that activity, I would love to know what it is that creates those happy moments in your life.
Please take a moment and check out the new Facebook page. If you enjoy what you see, I would be thrilled if you would hit the like button or share the page with others.

The bike riding sounds like fun. Haven’t been on one in years and last time I did it was on a 10-speed and I fell off. Guess it didn’t work too well on gravel driveway and hilly, dirt roads in the mountains (LOL).
Still sounds like fun, though, for a getaway like that. Maybe, a hike would be just as much fun for me.
Have a great graduation time with your daughter and family and a great weekend.
Thanks so much Pat. Falling on gravel sounds awful. I did get out with my son and we rode around the neighborhood in between a few rain showers. I hope you are having a great weekend. Thanks for the graduation mention, my daughter is so excited it’s been fun to watch.
Always welcome Wendy. Fun times - graduation day.
I don’t hang out on Facebook much but I do like to share photos with my family and such there but I don’t play games there have to many other things to do other then playing games
I’m with you. I don’t play games on Facebook and rarely even say too much. I do like sharing photos and staying connected with friends and family that don’t live near by.
I was hesitant with facebook also. I’m glad that you finally started a page and that it has worked out well Taking time to try new things is always a great idea!
Thanks so much. I think it’s going to be a nice addition.
Congrats on the FB page. I’m traveling this week-end for a graduation. Time does fly. BTW: I love to bike too. I’m selling my current bikes and buying a tricked out cruiser with a basket. Can’t wait.
I would love a basket for my bike. Too bad you aren’t closer, we could have rode together. Have a great time at the graduation.
