Blogger in the Spotlight Interview
Hi Liz, thank you for joining me to discuss your blog and latest projects. Do you think you can tell the readers a little about yourself?
I am an empty-nester who used to write and create art in days gone by. Recently, after a rather strong poke in the ribs, I was prompted to get my archived and newer writings out of my dust collector and do something with them. I have started the illustrations for my children’s books after taking a course in Vector drawing, and written a few short stories that were published on a couple of sites. There are also a few mid- grade ghostly tale books in draft and two adult mystery novels in the works.
That is incredible. You definitely have a full plate with all of the projects you have going. You also have a blog. Can you tell us a little about it?
The name of my blog is Little Box of Books. I started off wanting to promote the series of children’s books, but found I had a few other things to talk about, hence little box of books. I also like the warm, clean look of the wordpress page I chose.
What made you decide to begin a blog?
Promotion was the primary reason, but that changed.
How long have you been blogging? Is this your first blog?
I started in February 2012 and this is my first blog.
How often do you write a new post for your blog?
I usually make one entry daily, even if it is only a quote.
What has been your best experience since beginning your blog?
I must say positive interaction with like-minded people has been the ultimate experience to date.
What has been most surprising to you about having a blog?
I would say that the responses from different countries is what surprised me most.
What advice would you give someone who is thinking of starting their own blog?
Research what makes blogs work, research your style, keep it organized, and most of all, have faith. Just when you think you are wasting your time, something happens.
Liz, thank you so much for stopping by. It was a real pleasure to interview you.
Please take a moment to check out Liz Blackmore’s blog. It’s full of wonderful posts, quotes and information about her books.
