For several days I have noticed writer friends take to their blogs to put down their thoughts about the holiday season. Some have written heartfelt messages about the true meaning of the holidays while others have passed along light-hearted tales of their own holiday memories. All of these shared thoughts got me thinking about how for a small span of time, people drop their guard and wear their hearts on their sleeve. They appreciate precious moments with friends and family. They feel grateful for what they have and extend a more giving spirit towards those who don’t have as much.

I wish there was a way to continue the spirit of this special time of year. It gives me hope to see and hear that there are so many people who care so deeply about those around them. Reading stories of others who demonstrate love and tenderness towards others warms my heart. I also love reading about those who cherish such fond memories associated with this time of year.
