There is nothing like waking up in the morning to a window cracked open, fresh air pouring into the bedroom and birds singing outside. I woke up on the late side and had the pleasure of sun streaming into my room. It’s been awhile since it’s been truly sunny outside. Spring is here and I am so excited.
The first few weeks of spring were met with cold weather, a small amount of snow and gray skies. To wake up to a day that is as perfect a spring day as I could wish for thrills me.
My favorite activity to do once the weather warms up is to take a bike ride. I try to get out each morning before I sit down and begin my working day with a ride around the neighborhood. My dream is to someday live in a place where I have access to quiet roads and can ride for quite a ways enjoying the view without dealing with car traffic.
Over the weekend, we had a day that was close to being as nice as the day we are having today. I threw open the windows to air out the house and was driven to clean the house from top to bottom. What is it about a pleasant day that gets you in the mood to clean?
I envy people who have a screened in porch or the backyard deck set up to perfectly accommodate a laptop and an iced tea. I can just imagine stretching out leisurely on a lounge chair and getting a nice bit of color from the sun as I type away doing my work. Looking up from the laptop, I would either see a gorgeous garden with beautiful flowers, a fountain and an overall feeling of tranquility or I would look out onto the lake.
If I lived on the lake, I would hear the motor from speedboats and the quacking of ducks. I’d hear the voices from people yelling to each other as they drove by on their jet skis. The smell of barbecue would fill the air and I would call it a day early on to have friends over for drinks and good food.
Whoops, getting carried away there. Maybe I should just stick to the tranquil garden so I don’t become distracted by what would be a fabulous summer on the lake. Then again, screw it. Let’s go for the lake scenario and deal with getting work done around a tempting view and good times.
So, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, Spring. Bike Rides. Birds Chirping. I guess I really have a bad case of spring fever, or maybe it’s summer fever. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your day and the weather is beautiful where you are too!
