What’s it like to live your life? Do you wake up each day with the excitement of a little kid? Do you look forward to the work you do each day? Are you full of curiosity and wonder? Do you look at what you’ve accomplished over the last few years with pride and a feeling of accomplishment? If you aren’t answering yes to these questions, what is holding you back?
I have found that adversity is a terrific motivator. Having little money, poor health, a less than supportive family, general fear of failure what ever the reason, they are all weak excuses! Maybe you think I’m being harsh. Maybe you think I don’t understand your circumstances and if I was in your position I would feel differently. Maybe…
Here’s my take on living a brilliant life full of excitement each day; each day that passes is a day that no longer exists. It’s gone. You can’t get it back. Not only can you not retrieve days gone by, but your life could end at any moment. If that were to occur, would you be satisfied with the life you lived?
You only get one life and it would be tragic not to live it the way you dream of doing. Look, I have experienced hard times. I’ve been in a horrible marriage and went through a long and difficult divorce. I have lost jobs, been broke, bankrupt and lost homes. I have had several health problems the worse of which kept me from working outside of my home.
On the other hand, I have three amazing kids and now have an incredible husband. I’ve flown a plane, started my own business twice, went after my dream and became a freelance writer. I founded this blog which is in its 4th year, went parasailing, won an all expense paid trip to Italy, experienced several amazing meals lead by different wine makers, met some well-known musicians, bought a home with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in a nice upper class neighborhood, owned a rental property, got my real estate license, and am currently working on writing songs with a singer/songwriter friend. The hell with adversity. Nothing’s going to hold me back from living a quality life!
I know I am fortunate in that I live in a country where living this freely and having the option to transform my life into whatever I desire is an option. It’s just another reason why if you live in a place where these opportunities are there for you, you should go after your dreams. Live a full life and not one of regret. Make each day count. Lay down each night with a feeling of contentment and peace and then start each new day with a feeling of excitement and anticipation at all that you can make your day into. Live your life fully and with happiness. That is all.

Great advice. It’s always easier to focus on the negative, and I often wonder why. Thanks for the reminder!!
Lynne, that’s so true! I wish I knew why as well.
